Ichnusa - Antico nome della Sardegna

Il nome Ichnusa, deriva da una vecchia leggenda: al tempo dei tempi, dopo aver creato le varie parti del mondo, il Signore si accinse a creare la Sardegna, Egli guardò dentro la sua sporta celeste, ma notò che era rimasto ben poco per poter forgiare un'isola; solo un cumulo di poveri sassi. Ma fu l'incertezza di un attimo, radunate le pietre, le sparse nel mare, e quando vide emergere le ultime le calcò con un piede, si delineò così la prima forma di Ichnusa.

L'opera di Dio però non era terminata, bisognava aggiungere qualcosa perché potesse nascere la vita tra quei massi spogli. Così il Signore prese dalle altre terre quello che mancava ad Ichnusa e, sparso il tutto sulla base pietrosa dell'isola, la ammantò di una natura fantastica, poi con un soffio creò animali e uomini.

Ichnusa - Ancient name of Sardinia

The name Ichnusa comes from an ancient legend; in the ages of times, after creating the whole world, the Lord started making Sardinia. When all the stones came back to the surface, He pressed them with one foot, outlining the foot-shape of the island.

God's work was not finsihed yet, it was necessary to add something to let the life grow between those naked rocks.
The Lord then took from the other parts of the world what Ichnusa was missing, then after laying it all on the rocky land and wraping it with a amazing nature, with a breath he created human beings and animals
